Bullies 2 The Rescue

At just over a year old, Herman is still a baby. He’s a sweet, silly boy who loves to run in the backyard, play with his toys, and snuggle up when he’s tired. Crates remind him too much of the life he escaped, but he’s not destructive and is making great progress with his house training. He’s comforted by the other dog in his foster home and would do best in a home with another dog for him to bond with.

Herman came from a hoarding case in Alabama, where authorities found nearly 180 dogs living in unimaginable conditions. Sadly, 119 of those dogs had to be humanely euthanized due to their poor health. The property was condemned, and cruelty charges were filed against the two men responsible.

Herman was severely malnourished, infested with intestinal parasites, heartworm-positive, and absolutely terrified — especially of men. Thankfully, a compassionate Good Samaritan rescued him from animal services and surrendered him to Bullies 2 the Rescue, giving him the best possible chance at healing and rehabilitation.

He's learning to trust the gentle hands that care for him now. He’s learning what it means to be loved and to be safe. He’s even starting to trust men — making small breakthroughs every day.

What Herman needs most is a patient, loving family who will reassure him every day that he will never be neglected or forgotten again.

Meet Herman - our featured adopt-a-bull!

Please note that these are NOT all of the dogs currently in rescue; we usually have many more bulldogs that have just not been listed on our sites yet.  Even if you do not see a dog that may be your match, you should apply to adopt and get the process started so that when your match does come, you are ready to go! If you would like more information on a particular dog, please fill out an application so we can discuss with you. If you are already approved, please check your email for a message from us or contact one of the B2TR volunteers you spoke with during the screening process. We have a special group set up just for our approved adopters where updated information on each bulldog is posted. The bios posted here may change depending on how the foster bulldog reacts in their new environment.

If you’re seeking to obtain a cheap English bulldog or frenchie or you’re looking for a specific color/look or only want a puppy, rescue is probably not for you. Please consider providing a loving home to any bulldog who needs it.

Our regular monthly adoptable bulldog meet-and-greets with the rescue bulldogs are held at Carolina Pet Pantry 323 Unionville Indian Trail Rd W Indian Trail, NC 28079 on different dates.  Please check out our Events Page for details.

Please do not send messages via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram asking about the status of your application or for more information on a newly arrived foster.

Once you are approved to adopt, we will be happy to discuss possible matches after we have had time to thoroughly evaluate a new rescued bulldog.

To check the status of your application, please email applications@bullies2therescue.com. Please allow 5-6 weeks for a volunteer to schedule a phone interview.

Come back soon. More Ador-a-bull bios are on the way!
